“Big Pete” Huetter
May 13, 1941 – March 14th, 2012

“Big Pete” Huetter was born May 13, 1941.  He was 1 of 5 children, he and his brother Tom, and sisters Jackie, Fran and Merry were raised in Barnaget Bay, New Jersey by his parents Godfrey & Mildred.

In 1960, Pete joined the United States Navy where he served until his retirement in 1980.  Pete immediately began working for the Government in the Civil Service in the same capacity as a computer analyst/programmer for another 20 years until he retired for good in 2003.

He met the love of his life, Mary Anne when she was just 15 and it was love at first sight.  With her parents’ approval, he married his 17 year old “young bride” on January 25, 1961 and they enjoyed 51 wonderful years together.  Their lifelong love for each other was clearly evident to all who met “Mary Anne & Pete”.  They were blessed with 2 sons Peter & Mark, and their grandchildren Adriana & Logan whom they absolutely adored.

Pete was quite the athlete in high school and Varsity Lettered in basketball, football & track his freshman year on.  During his naval career he had numerous accomplishments and adventures.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, was an hurricane hunter in Puerto Rico, performed ocean surveys, went on arctic survival expeditions on the icecap of Greenland, and traveled all over the world from the north to south pole.

Pete thoroughly enjoyed billiards and if you ever played against him you usually lost, especially in his younger days before his eyesight began to fail him.  He was a master auto mechanic and loved rebuilding cars or anything electrical he enjoyed tinkering with… he was truly able to fix almost anything.  Probably his greatest passion was the game of basketball and Mary Anne, Peter and Mark enjoyed many a game with him over the years.

Pete joined his wife Mary Anne in true worship and dedicated his life to Jehovah on March 27, 2004.

Pete Huetter is survived by wife, Mary Anne, sons, Peter and Mark, grandchildren, Adriana Gabrielle and Logan Andreas, brother and sisters Tom, Merry and Fran; many other extended family members and friends and numerous other “brothers and sisters” united by faith with him in the Christian congregation.

Pete knew  that even though he closed his eyes in death, he would one day soon open them again in life in a beautiful new world just as Jehovah God has promised at Rev. 21:3, 4 one of his favorite verses in the Bible.

Big Pete was loved and respected by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.  So we can all look forward to seeing him again soon, healthy and happy.
